  • Our HIPAA-compliant plan follows US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines regarding privacy, security, administrative safeguards, and relationships with our partners.

    This plan includes everything in our Team plan, plus a signed BAA (Business Associate Agreement). The BAA assures you that we are following industry standard best practices for security and protection of viewing your client’s data and that we will follow HHS guidelines in the event of a security incident. In addition, data is encrypted and stored in a HIPAA-compliant facility.

    And finally, client information is never sold or shared with anyone. Period. (No matter which plan you’re on.)

  • No. Many doulas do not need to be HIPAA-compliant. However, to submit health insurance claims, providers must utilize HIPAA-compliant technology. Our HIPAA-compliant plan will also allow doulas to utilize our claims processing feature once it’s released.

  • HIPAA-compliance involves following a set of rules and regulations guidelines and safeguards for the privacy and protection of client data that are set by HHS (US Department of Health and Human Services) and must be implemented by any business that is HIPAA compliant.

  • Anyone who receives client data from a covered entity

    Anyone who submits client data to a health insurance network or works WITH another provider who is a covered entity by HIPAA regulation.

    Anyone who shares data to someone who submits to health insurance network

  • Almost! What it means is that your relationship with us is compliant and any client information you entrust to us will be treated exactly how it should. You will still need to make sure you are careful with other places you store and transfer PHI (Protected Health Information).

    After you sign up for the HIPAA-compliant plan, we'll prepare a Business Associate Agreement and send it to you for your signature.
